About me
I started out working a rotating schedule at my family's three gas stations in the early eighties at the age of 14. This allowed me to learn a ton about how mechanical things worked. What I quickly realized was that I had an innate skill for repairing just about anything. After being a "pump jockey" and general shop helper, I became a mechanic out of necessity, i.e., I had to keep my old junk on the road! Surprise! I was actually good at it! What evolved was a penchant for problem solving and helping people; the latter being my favorite part of the job.
I went to college for accounting which benefitted me immensely in the automotive industry. Even though I thought I wanted to be an accountant, repairing vehicles was like a gravitational pull and kept me rooted in auto repair.
I was one of the head mechanics at my family's shop in Virginia for 35 Years. Over that time I was immersed in repairing almost every vehicle brand and make. That diversity of vehicles made me a better technician. The foundations of every vehicle are very similar, and seeing common problems in one brand helps tremendously when diagnosing problems in others.
With the onset of Covid I left my lifelong career with the shop and branched out independently. I genuinely enjoy working directly with customers so sharing my time between Telemechanic services my small marine business has been a blessing. I get plenty of direct customer-facing time and enough hands on "fix it" time that pulled me in to; and kept me in the sector 35 years ago.
I am looking forward to assisting you and your automotive challenge!

@ALLCAPS1310/12/2023Initially we planned for a 15 minute call, but it became evident that the problem was more serious. We then rescheduled for a longer call and Kenny was able to help us figure out a solution that saved us $300. Thanks Kenny, super reliable and knowledgeable!
